Questions and answers

Short answers about how Every Farm works, how we check farms, and Split a cow.

Which farms do you list?

Working farms within about 90 minutes of Toronto that welcome visitors or sell to the public: orchards, pumpkin patches, farm stores, CSA farms, beef and egg farms, sugar bushes and more.

Where does the information come from?

From each farm's own website, posts and signs, and from public records such as a certifier's registry. Every fact links to its source and shows the date we last checked it.

Are the hours right?

They were when we checked, and we show that date beside them. Farms change plans with the weather, so confirm with the farm before you go, especially after rain.

What does "Certified organic" mean here?

The farm holds a current organic certification, and we name the certifier and link to where you can check it. We never call a farm organic for any other reason.

What does "Farmer-reported" mean?

It's what the farm says about how it grows or raises things, in its own words, with where we found it and when we checked. We haven't inspected it ourselves.

What is Split a cow?

A way for neighbours to share one animal from a local farm and pay less per pound than buying a share alone. We're gathering interest now, and we'll email you when a share opens near you.

Do you sell anything?

Not yet. You buy straight from each farm, on the farm's terms. We aren't part of the sale.

Can I bring my dog?

It depends on the farm. Many farms keep dogs away from crops and animals. Check the farm's page and its own rules before you bring one.

I run a farm. How do I fix my listing?

Email [email protected] from the address on your website and tell us what to change.

How do I stop your emails?

Every email we send has an unsubscribe link. You can also email [email protected] and we'll take you off the list.
