Split a cow. Pay less for better beef.
Beef prices keep climbing. Buying a whole animal straight from a farm usually costs less per pound, but few families have room for a whole cow. So we'll split one between neighbours.
How it works
Tell us what you'd take
An eighth, a quarter or a half, and the cuts you like. No payment, no commitment.
We fill a cow
As households near you join, the shares add up to a whole animal. The fuller it gets, the lower everyone's price.
Pick it up, cut and wrapped
A local farm raises it and has it processed at an inspected plant. You collect it frozen and labelled.
Why it's cheaper
The fuller the cow, the lower the price
A farm prices a whole animal lower per pound than single cuts, because it sells everything at once. Splitting it means you get that price without needing a farm-sized freezer.
- Buying cuts alone
- Regular price
- Half the cow filled
- Lower price
- Whole cow filled
- Lowest price
Prices come from the farm and drop at each step as the cow fills. You only pay once it's full and you've confirmed.
Questions
Do I pay anything to join the waitlist?
No. Joining tells us what you'd like. When a share opens near you, you'll see the farm, the price and the pickup date before you decide.
Where does the beef come from?
From a farm within about 90 minutes of Toronto that raises its own cattle. The animal is processed at a provincially or federally inspected plant, and we name both the farm and the plant before you commit.
Can I choose my cuts?
Partly. Tell us the cuts you'd like more of when you join. Every animal has only so much of each cut, so each share is a mix, and you'll see the cutting plan before you pay.
What if the cow doesn't fill?
Then nobody pays. We'll tell you how close it got, and you can wait for the next one or leave the list.
What do you do with my email?
We use it only to tell you about cow shares near you. We keep the first three characters of your postal code, never your address, and you can unsubscribe at any time. Read our privacy policy.
