The first apple trees went in at Homestead Orchards in 1989, and the Georgina farm now grows more than twenty varieties, several of them for picking in an accessible orchard you can see from the store. Strawberries run from July into October and raspberries come ready to pick in mid-July. The farm store sells fresh cider pressed each week, preserves, frozen soups and the bakery's pies, scones and apple brownies, and it takes baking orders a day or two ahead. Visiting is free.
