The Moore family has farmed this land near Ayr since 1916, and the fourth and fifth generations work it today. The farm store opens all year with eggs, Black Angus beef under the Moore's Cattle Co. name, frozen meals and vegetables from its own fields, including sweet corn, peas, beans and garlic. Strawberries are pick-your-own for a short season in early summer. On market Saturdays from June to October there are vendors, live music and the farm's Longhorn cattle, with the Longhorn Smokehouse food truck serving barbecue.

Check in with staff, who assign your row; each adult who goes into the field picks at least a quart. Bring your own container or buy one at the farm. No pets or strollers in the berry fields. The patch closes in rain and on some days to ripen, so check the farm's social pages before you go.
